‘TSS’ Make Heavy Duty Electro Hydraulic Thruster is a device which converts electrical energy into linear mechanical force by its smooth gentle thrust. The Thruster unit consists of a cylinder filled with oil, the centrifugal pump located at the bottom and the electric motor assembled on the top cover of cylinder. The rotor shaft of motor is extended vertically downwards into cylinder and carries an impeller at its lower end. When the motor drives the impeller, pressure is built-up under the piston, which moves upwards. When the power is switched OFF, the oil flow in reverse direction through stationary impeller and the weight of piston mechanism lowers the piston to its original position. The Thruster Motor is totally enclosed, class ‘B’ insulated, suitable for 3 phase, AC., 50c/s supply. There are two bearings, the top bearings of the motor is grease lubricated and the bottom bearings splash lubricated from oil in the tank. The oil is to BS: 148, Grade B. 30, which is ‘Transformer Oil’. It is completely satisfactory for operation in ambient temperature down to 10˚C (14˚F).
